Simon Meindl joined Cityförster in Rotterdam as an intern in March 2026. He holds a Master of Arts in Architecture from the Technical University of Munich and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture at TUM. His academic work focuses on cultural, social, and inclusive approaches to architecture, with a particular interest in sustainable urbanism and the relationship between people, landscapes, and the built environment.
During his studies, Simon worked as a student assistant, where he enjoyed collaborating with and supporting fellow students in their design process. His thesis explored how inclusive architectural strategies and sustainable urban development can contribute to more resilient and socially connected cities.
Curious about different cultures and ways of building and inhabiting space, Simon has traveled extensively through Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including Iran, Syria, Japan, and Singapore. Study experiences in Cuba, Jordan, and China further broadened his perspective on architecture and urban life in diverse cultural contexts.
Simon approaches design with both a conceptual and detail-oriented mindset and enjoys expressing ideas creatively, from architecture to fashion. At Cityförster, he looks forward to contributing to projects at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and urbanism while learning from an international and interdisciplinary team.
