Ivan Shkurko

M.Sc. architecture

Ivan is a project architect at CITYFÖRSTER architecture + urbanism Rotterdam office. He specializes in Sustainable architecture, building transformation, and resilient strategies.Ivan graduated KU Leuven master's in Sustainable architecture studies in 2017 and MArchI with a specialist degree in the reconstruction of buildings in 2013. During his master's studies, Ivan went for an exchange semester to Germany to study at Stuttgart University in the studio led by Carmody Groarke. His master's diploma project explored possibilities of resilient growth of the former railway area Wagenhallen in Stuttgart, focusing on an experimental economic approach of supporting artists and alternative culture in the city.

After graduation, Ivan moved to the Netherlands where he gained experience in international architectural and urban projects. During the years he collaborated with Mei architects and planners, Orange architects, and Levs architecten, working on the winner "BNA Building of the year 2023" Jonas project in Amsterdam and various other projects in the Netherlands and abroad. Ivan was an invited jury member in March school in Moscow.
In addition to his professional activity, Ivan is part of an artist group Buro 5537 creating spatial installations and small-scale architectural objects
