Nele is an intern at Cityförster in Rotterdam. She is currently pursuing her Master Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Kassel with a specialization in Urban Design and is interested in the synergy between the Urban Design Process and Public Participation. She wrote her Bachelor thesis about the conversion of a former industrial area into a new neighborhood which focuses on the needs of the IT-Sector and the spatial challenges of New Work.
During a previous internship Nele became part of the initiative'MITTE urban playground' in Kiel where the team worked on the reconnection of the western and eastern part of the city divided by a harbor basin. Through events, art interventions and a close collaboration with other actors of the creative and cultural industries and the municipality a now permanent space for the initiative was created. With the initiative, Nele has been a member of the 'Urbane Liga' since 2020 - an alliance of young city makers - a project of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building.
