Lena Buck

B.a. architecture

Growing up with a strong urge to shape the world around her Lena graduated from HTWG Constance in Germany in early 2025 with a Bachelor's degree in architecture. There she explored topics of ecological building methods, sufficiency and adaptive reuse. An internship in Berlin gave her profound knowledge of timber building and encouraged her to become active with Architects for Future, a European activist group that developed out of the Fridays for Future movement to change the building culture from a political level.

In her bachelor thesis she explored the potential of sharing goods in communities to not only limit overconsumption but bring people together. For this purpose, she designed a library of things as a meeting point for the city district.
An international summer school in the Brazilian Amazon forest gave her the opportunity to learn about climate resilient architecture and broadened her horizon to non-European building technics.
Lena joined Cityförster in Rotterdam in September 2025 as an intern and is keen to gain more experience in sustainable practices in urban design and architecture. She looks forward to learning from an international and interdisciplinary team.
