Lena Lauermann

Lena has been working at CITYFÖRSTER since the beginning of 2019 as a budding urban planner and manages projects in the field of competition and framework planning.

Thanks to a career that spans multiple scales, she always sees her profession as a whole. From the chair to the city: the design of spaces can create change on a small and large scale and thus find solutions to structural and social problems.

Her preliminary training in interior design from 2009 at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim, followed by a period of practical experience in the field of design and urban land-use planning, was extended in 2013 by a degree in architecture and urban planning at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
During a six-month internship at Urban Catalyst in Berlin, she learned new approaches to urban development, such as the process-based development of urban spaces and the participatory involvement of city dwellers in these processes, which were directly applied in her subsequent master's thesis.
Since completing her master's degree in architecture and urban planning at Leibniz Universität Hannover in early 2018, she has also been working there in teaching and research. At the Institute of Design and Urban Planning in the Department of Urban and Spatial Development and in the Department of Urban Design, she primarily teaches young students the basics of urban design.
