Drymades Village, Drymades

Located on Drymades beach, the Drymades Village holiday resort consists of a series of terraced courtyards framed by architecture, creating a cohesive village feel to the project.

The master plan follows the topography and the 15-meter difference in elevation, and is based on the villas and their orientation to the sun, as well as the overall visual connection to the coast. Typologically, the villas are inspired by the prevailing architecture of the surrounding area and the aim of finding a different approach to a resort project, where individualization breaks with a monotonous design. The iconic image of Mediterranean villages is communicated in the architecture through predefined elements such as roofs and facades, which form a catalog for personalizing the villas.

In total, six plazas are interwoven to form a large inner courtyard, which, through openings in the architecture, connects the private areas with the public space. Located at different levels, they offer views of the coast and provide visitors with a range of activities.

The main approach to landscape architecture is to preserve the existing vegetation as much as possible. It changes its composition from a dense forest in the lowest part of the property to an urban plaza in the highest part. Native species (cypress and olive trees) and low-maintenance plants (bougainvillea, cacti) make up the selected vegetation.
