Stepping to the park

The clear p-shaped building structure is a connection of a north-south orientated structure and a c-shaped structure which is opened to the west. The long structure is stepped from the Lessing elevation from eight to four floors down. By this view and path relations are generated and the maximum number of apartments are orietated to the green. The c-shaped part of the building completes the city block and activates the fire walls. Two open spaces which differ from each other characterize the design - a housing courtyard, which is setted between the two building parts and a qualificated open space connection. The housing courtyard's light topography generates a spacial relationship with the surrounding nature and is at the same time giving structure to the room. The given open space structure in the west provides a mixture from small trade, play and leisure offers and a public passage, which creates a vivid room and connects the old and new buildings. The building structure's stepping and the volume differentiation on the basis of distance spaces and exposure optimization ensure a varying offer of apartments for manifold inhabitants.
