Innovative Residential, Office, and Educational Buildings, Concept and Implementation

Arne is a founding partner of CITYFÖRSTER architecture + urbanism and managing partner of the office in Hannover. From idea to execution, Arne oversees the entire process of planning innovative residential, office, and educational buildings. He is especially interested in resource-saving construction, simple construction methods and material cycles, and the possibilities of wood construction.

Arne Hansen studied architecture at Leibniz University Hannover and the Arkitekthøgskolen Oslo. He previously worked for, among other firms, Korteknie Stuhlmacher Architecten in Rotterdam. In addition to winning various awards in competitions, Arne, together with Nils Nolting, received the "max 45" young talent award in 2017 from the Association of German Architects (BDA) in Lower Saxony for the Residential Crown project. Also related to the topic of innovative housing, which is of great importance for the future, is the Rubber House, an experimental home built of solid wood (completion 2011; Almere, NL). Arne is currently developing various residential buildings and is working together with Kirstin Bartels on the expansion of the Nümbrecht school campus. Since 2019, Arne has also been actively involved in the BDA as a member of the state executive board for Lower Saxony.

Arne's goal is to design better living environments – with innovative, resource-saving construction methods, and hybrid building concepts.
