The rural south of Albania is characterized by a spectacular coastline, untouched natural areas and a rich cultural heritage. Travel is an important engine for Albania's economic development. However, the developments of the past 20 years have been rather accidental and do not correspond to the tourist potential of the region. As part of the initiative of the Albanian government "Urban Rebirth", the main goal of this project was to revitalize the coastal areas of the villages of Jalë and Dhërmi. Based on the outstanding natural beauty of both places, our aim was to structure and strengthen the coastline and to connect it with its surroundings. In Dhërmi, this included clearing the main promenade from traffic and providing basic infrastructure, but to keep the promenade discreet. A water place was developed as a landmark for the place. A breakwater is used for water sports as well as a lookout point and artificial cliff. The water square connects inland through the "valley of freshness" and invites you to mountaineering and cultural activities.
